Biography
Virginia Grey Moore grew up in Eden NC. She graduated from JM Morehead High School. She had some college courses in Business Administration. She received her first guitar at the age of nine and wrote her first song at the age of eleven.She hopefully inherited her muscial talents from both sides of her family. On her paternal side, her grandparents were in a gospel quartet and sang on the local radio station weekly. She had two uncles who played in country music bands, one playing the rythym guitar and bass fiddle, and he was a great help to her during the earlier years of his career, and the other played the violin(fiddle). On her maternal side, her great grandmother wrote songs and poetry, and her grandfather played and sang, and also appeared on the local radio station. Her entire family enjoys getting together as often as possible and all join in on singalongs. Virginia Grey continued her writing and later went to Nashville to record a compilation CD with several other songwriters, and the CD received some airplay in Alabama, North Carolina, and Europe. She appeared on a local Nashville television show " The Tennessee Hayride Jamboree" where she opened the show for (MCA) recording artist Marty Brown. She was fortunate enough to finish in the top five in a writing competition in Nashville. She also is a member of BMI Nashville. She now resides in the Myrtle Beach SC area where she joined up with writing partner Wec Easterlin. She played in a local band with "The Usual Suspects playing nightclubs up and down the grand strand for several years as the lead singer and guitarist. This group opened the "The True Value Coutry Music Show Down a national competition at the Beach Wagon in Myrtle Beach . She's done some backup vocals for several local recording artists. Virginia Grey has just released her debut CD the "Cowboy Shakes" which she co-produced along with artist Jeff Zona. This CD contains a mixture of contemporary and traditional country music that she hopes you enjoy as much as she enjoyed bringing the songs to life along with the help of some awesome musicians (dear friends)......
